BIOGRAPHY

FRANCESCA FILANC
Francesca Filanc's paintings present a contemporary interpretation of flower and garden scenes along with a deeply stimulating view of human characters. Considered by many to be a form of modern impressionistic or modern abstract expressionist style, her paintings possess tremendous energy as experienced through the use of bold colors.

Her portrayal of flower and garden scenes grows from her love of gardening; her garden has been featured in numerous television programs and magazine articles such as San Diego Home Garden Magazine, Better Homes & Gardens and Sunset Magazine. The carefree and flowing style of her paintings derives from her unrestrained and often whimsical garden arrangements. She has traveled throughout North America and Europe to study gardens and gather materials for new artistic creations.

Inspired by her love of the works of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painters, Francesca has sought training and inspiration from her modern day masters including Howard Carr and Sebastian Capella. Her work has been shown in numerous venues and juried art shows and may be seen in local galleries including Art & Frame on Cedros Street in Solana Beach, CA.
